Eastern New Mexico Medical Center (ENMMC) proudly announces a collaboration with Rio Pecos Medical Associates, LTD (Rio Pecos), integrating their esteemed team of physicians into the ENMMC OB-GYN department. This partnership, effective September 1, 2023, marks a significant enhancement in women’s healthcare services available in Roswell, NM, and throughout southeastern New Mexico.
For over six decades, Rio Pecos Medical Associates has been a cornerstone of healthcare in the Roswell area. The experienced team joining ENMMC includes physicians Eric Y. Peterson, M.D., John Dacanay, M.D., Jeanmarie Salinas, M.D., and Richard Mooney, M.D., along with Certified Nurse Midwife Sarah Whittington, CNM. Dr. Eric Y. Peterson of Rio Pecos expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, stating, “We feel that the collaboration with ENMMC will bring more community focused women’s health care services to Southeast New Mexico.”
This integration means expanded and improved OB-GYN services for the community. ENMMC has invested in significant upgrades, including newly renovated birthing suites featuring modern lighting, fetal monitoring, and advanced ultrasound technology, all designed to create a more comfortable and relaxing environment for new mothers. Warren Yehl, CEO of ENMMC, highlighted these improvements: “Our beautifully updated birthing suites include new wood flooring finish and a soothing paint scheme, modern lighting, fetal monitors in our obstetrics services and ultrasound machines. We hope women will enjoy a more comfortable and relaxing environment to welcome their new baby.”
Furthermore, the collaboration extends to gynecological services. Dr. Richard Mooney and the Rio Pecos team will provide gynecology services at ENMMC, utilizing state-of-the-art 4K high definition surgical laparoscopic towers. According to CEO Warren Yehl, “All of our physicians performing gynecological surgery will now be utilizing the 4K high definition surgical laparoscopic towers to support delivery of surgical care for our patients,” ensuring Roswell area patients have access to advanced surgical care.
