Rio Pecos Doctors Enhance Women’s Health Services at Eastern New Mexico Medical Center

Eastern New Mexico Medical Center (ENMMC) proudly announces the integration of Rio Pecos Medical Associates, LTD (Rio Pecos), effective September 1, 2023, significantly bolstering women’s health services in Roswell, NM, and the broader southeastern New Mexico region. This collaboration brings together the esteemed Rio Pecos Doctors with the advanced facilities of ENMMC, promising enhanced care and expanded services for the community.

For over six decades, Rio Pecos has been a cornerstone of healthcare in Roswell. The team of dedicated physicians and providers, including Eric Y. Peterson, M.D., John Dacanay, M.D., Jeanmarie Salinas, M.D., Richard Mooney, M.D., and Sarah Whittington, CNM, are now part of the ENMMC OB-GYN team. Dr. Jane McMillan, OB/GYN medical director at ENMMC, alongside certified nurse midwife (CNM) Katrina Kelly, expressed enthusiasm for this partnership, stating, “I am honored and thrilled to work with the many skilled professionals at ENMMC to provide safe and compassionate care for the women of our community.” Dr. Peterson from Rio Pecos echoed this sentiment, emphasizing the collaboration’s potential to “bring more community focused women’s health care services to Southeast New Mexico.”

ENMMC has invested in significant upgrades to its birthing suites, featuring new wood flooring, calming décor, modern lighting, state-of-the-art fetal monitors, and advanced ultrasound technology. CEO of ENMMC, Warren Yehl, highlighted these improvements: “Our beautifully updated birthing suites… We hope women will enjoy a more comfortable and relaxing environment to welcome their new baby.” These enhancements aim to create a more comfortable and welcoming atmosphere for expectant mothers.

Dr. Richard Mooney and the Rio Pecos team will contribute to expanding gynecological care, utilizing ENMMC’s cutting-edge technology.
