Born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio, Dr. Doctor’s journey in medicine began with a strong foundation in biology. After graduating high school, she pursued her passion for science at Kenyon College in Gambier, Ohio, where she earned her degree in biology. Driven by a desire to serve others through healthcare, Dr. Doctor continued her education at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio, achieving her medical degree. Her commitment to specialized care led her to complete her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at St. Luke’s Medical Center, also in Cleveland, Ohio, solidifying her expertise in women’s health.
Throughout her distinguished career, Dr. Doctor has served diverse medical communities, not only as a dedicated clinician but also as an associate professor. In these roles, she imparted her knowledge and skills to medical students and residents, shaping the next generation of healthcare professionals. Her professional journey has taken her across multiple states, including California, Florida, Georgia, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and South Carolina, allowing her to positively impact a wide range of patient populations. Beyond her domestic service, Dr. Doctor has extended her care globally, participating in medical and spiritual missions to locations such as Nairobi, Kenya, Haiti, The Bahamas, and Seoul, South Korea, demonstrating her commitment to healthcare accessibility worldwide.
Adding to her impressive background, Dr. Doctor’s service as a Lieutenant Commander in the United States Navy reflects her dedication to service and leadership. She served with distinction on both Marine and Naval bases, further enriching her experience and commitment to disciplined, compassionate care. Later in her career, Dr. Doctor embraced a spiritual calling, becoming an ordained Itinerant Elder in the African Methodist Episcopal (AME) Church. To further integrate her faith with her healthcare expertise, she completed a dual degree program at Emory University, earning a Master of Divinity from Candler School of Theology and a Master of Public Health from Rollins School of Public Health. This unique combination of theological and public health education empowers Dr. Doctor to address health concerns at both individual and community levels, offering a holistic approach to well-being.
