Preparing for Your Delivery at Doctors Hospital

To ensure a smooth arrival when it’s time to deliver, we highly recommend pre-registering for your hospital stay. This simple step can save you valuable time and paperwork upon arrival. You can pre-register by calling (614) 566.1515 or conveniently online at ohiohealth.com/pre-registration.

When you arrive at Doctors Hospital, please use the main entrance at 5100 West Broad Street, Columbus, Ohio, easily accessible from Interstate 270. During the day and early evening, take the elevators directly from the main entrance to the second floor for Labor and Delivery. If you arrive after 8:30 p.m., please enter through the Emergency Department for assistance. Free parking is readily available near the main entrance for your convenience.

Upon admission, you will be welcomed into your private, state-of-the-art LDRP suite. These suites are thoughtfully designed to provide a comfortable space for you and your family throughout your entire stay, featuring a private bathroom and shower, and comfortable sleeping arrangements for your partner. We also offer birthing balls and rocking chairs to enhance your comfort during labor. To support you during labor and delivery, you may have two support people with you. We welcome you to capture still photographs during labor and delivery to preserve these precious moments.

Welcoming Your Baby

Immediately after birth, you will have the incredible opportunity to hold your newborn and begin bonding through Kangaroo Care, with your baby placed directly on your chest. Following a normal delivery, we encourage you to keep your baby in your room as much as possible to foster this crucial bonding process. Should you need rest or require additional medical care, your baby can be cared for in our nursery, conveniently located near your postpartum room.
