To be eligible for FACP, you should assess if you meet the following key requirements:

  • Possess at least 3 years of experience following residency training.
  • Maintain ACP membership in good standing for at least 3 of the last 4 years.
  • Hold initial board certification in internal medicine or neurology.
  • Maintain an active medical license in good standing (if currently in clinical practice).

If you meet these foundational criteria and can demonstrate engagement in three of the four pillars of Fellowship, you are well-positioned to apply for the doctor FACP designation.

The Path to FACP: How to Apply

Applying for FACP is a streamlined process designed to be user-friendly:

  1. Application Form: Complete the online application form.
  2. Supporting Documents: Include your current curriculum vitae and remit the one-time Fellowship initiation fee of $175.
  3. Sponsor Letter: Obtain a sponsorship letter or Sponsor Form from a colleague who is an existing FACP or MACP (Master of the American College of Physicians).
