Let me share a bit about my journey and background. For most of my professional life after graduating from chiropractic school, I’ve been known as Dr. Berg—officially, Dr. Eric Berg, DC, or as many of my audience affectionately call me, The Knowledge Doc.
My enduring passion is educating people about health. This includes crucial topics like Healthy Keto® and intermittent fasting, which I advocate as fundamental, sustainable dietary approaches. I find immense satisfaction in demystifying complex health issues, breaking them down into understandable concepts, and connecting symptoms to their root causes. Beyond my online presence, I am also the author of the Amazon bestseller, The Healthy Keto Plan.
For three decades, I practiced in Alexandria, Virginia, where I had the privilege of working directly with over 40,000 individuals. My approach emphasized natural methods, nutritional strategies, and a healthy interpretation of the ketogenic diet—Healthy Keto®. My clientele was incredibly diverse, ranging from senior U.S. government officials and medical doctors to actors, top corporate executives, scientists, professors, engineers, nurses, stay-at-home parents, and even high school students. People from all walks of life and corners of the globe sought my guidance. Alongside my private practice, I consistently conducted in-house seminars multiple times each week, and extended my teaching to external seminars at governmental agencies, including the Library of Congress, Federal Communications Commission, and the National Institutes of Health, among others like the FBI.
Expanding my reach beyond individual clients, I developed monthly training seminars for doctors. Through these, I shared my techniques and expertise with over 2,500 doctors and healthcare practitioners, aiming to broaden the impact of natural health solutions.
In 2008, my passion for teaching found a new avenue through YouTube. Over the subsequent 14 years, I dedicated myself to creating an extensive library of over 6,000 videos, covering virtually every health topic imaginable. This endeavor involved countless early mornings and long days devoted to studying and video production. I am incredibly proud that my YouTube channel, across various languages, has grown to over 30 million subscribers and consistently garners 200 million views monthly. My core mission is to empower individuals to take control of their health.
Much of my time is spent behind a computer, immersed in medical textbooks and research papers. The need for glasses is a recent development—an irony I haven’t yet resolved! I am driven by a constant quest to uncover the underlying causes of diseases; it’s become more than just a profession—it’s a personal pursuit. This quest fuels both my video creation and the development of comprehensive courses. I even designed a specialized course on keto and intermittent fasting to certify Keto Coaches worldwide, aiming to spread reliable knowledge and support.
In 2017 and 2018, I hosted the annual Keto Health Summit at the Gaylord Hotel in National Harbor, Maryland. These summits were a highlight, bringing together around 1,000 people from across the world to immerse themselves in keto knowledge. It was an amazing experience to connect with so many passionate individuals.
Currently, my focus has expanded to the realm of agriculture, specifically the soil. Living on a farm has provided a unique opportunity to research how to cultivate nutrient-dense food and raise nutrient-dense animals, starting with the foundational role of soil health.
