Staying healthy is crucial for academic success, and at San Diego State University (SDSU), Student Health Services (SHS) is dedicated to ensuring students have access to top-notch medical care. Whether you need a flu shot, COVID-19 testing, or general medical advice, understanding the services available and how to access them is essential. SDSU provides a range of healthcare options, staffed by experienced professionals, right on campus.
Important Updates and Accessing SHS
Flu Shot Season is Here
Protect yourself from the flu! Flu shots are available at Student Health Services starting September 30th. Take advantage of No Flu November, when flu shots are provided at no cost to students. This is a fantastic opportunity to get vaccinated by an Sdsu Doctor or healthcare provider and stay healthy throughout the semester.
Accessing Essential Health Services
To ensure efficient and safe care, all services at SHS are currently by appointment. Walk-in services are temporarily suspended. To schedule an appointment with an SDSU doctor or to discuss your health needs, please call 619-594-4325. You can also send a secure message through the HealtheConnect portal for non-urgent inquiries.
For prescription refills, transferring prescriptions, or obtaining your medical records, the SHS team is ready to assist. Contact them via phone or through a secure message on HealtheConnect. If you’re unsure about what kind of care you need, a triage nurse is available by phone at 619-594-4325 to guide you.
COVID-19 Testing and Care
SDSU Student Health Services continues to provide COVID-19 testing by appointment, Monday through Friday during business hours. If you need a COVID-19 test, please schedule an appointment. Detailed information about testing procedures and scheduling can be found on the SHS COVID-19 Care page.
Students experiencing symptoms that might be related to COVID-19 should promptly call 619-594-4325 to arrange an appointment for evaluation and care. Alternatively, you can reach out through HealtheConnect for guidance from an SDSU doctor or healthcare professional.
