Growing up witnessing his parents’ dedication as healthcare professionals, Dr. Baig was deeply inspired to pursue a career in medicine, aiming to make a similar positive impact on people’s lives. This early aspiration led him to the University of New York at Buffalo, where he graduated Summa Cum Laude with a degree in biological sciences. His outstanding academic performance secured him early admission to the University’s School of Medicine, where he earned his medical degree, solidifying his path to becoming Doctor Baig.
Driven by a strong interest in global and community well-being, Dr. Baig completed a residency program in preventive medicine at the University of Michigan, simultaneously obtaining a Master’s Degree in Public Health (MPH). His commitment to public health extended beyond academia, as he served as a consultant for esteemed organizations such as the World Health Organization in the Philippines and the Public Health Foundation of India in New Delhi. Seeking to integrate his public health knowledge with direct patient care, Doctor Baig pursued anesthesiology residency training at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee. He then practiced anesthesia in Los Angeles for four years, further honing his skills before undertaking a Pain Medicine Fellowship Program at Stanford University in Palo Alto, specializing in advanced pain management techniques.
Currently practicing at OrthoIllinois, Dr. Baig focuses on delivering comprehensive, non-surgical, multi-modal treatment strategies for pain management. His expertise encompasses advanced therapies including peripheral nerve stimulation, peripheral joint and vertebral radiofrequency ablation, and innovative platelet-rich plasma injections. Doctor Baig strongly believes in empowering patients by involving them actively in their care decisions. His primary goal is to provide patients with a transparent and thorough evaluation of all available treatment options and realistic expectations, fostering a collaborative environment to develop personalized and effective treatment plans tailored to each individual’s unique needs.
Beyond his medical practice, Doctor Baig enjoys traveling, staying active through exercise, and cherishing quality time with his family. He is eager to meet new patients and collaborate with them on their journey to achieving a more active and pain-free life.
