Dr. Aamir Ahmed: Reconstructive Foot and Ankle Surgeon

Dr. Aamir Ahmed, DPM, is a fellowship-trained and board-eligible foot and ankle surgeon with a strong focus on reconstructive surgery. He provides exceptional care to patients at Ankle & Foot Doctors of New Jersey in Millburn and Westfield. Dr. Ahmed’s advanced training and comprehensive skill set make him a valuable asset in addressing complex foot and ankle issues.
Dr. Ahmed’s academic achievements include a medical degree from the New York College of Podiatric Medicine, following his cum laude graduation with bachelor’s and master’s degrees in biomedical engineering from the New Jersey Institute of Technology. He completed a rigorous three-year surgical residency at St. Mary’s General Hospital in Passaic, New Jersey, where he gained extensive surgical experience in diverse areas such as adult foot and ankle reconstruction, trauma management, arthritic joint care, Achilles tendon reconstruction, arthroscopy, Charcot neuroarthropathy, and diabetic limb salvage. His residency included advanced training in wound care techniques, further broadening his expertise.
Dr. Ahmed pursued further specialization by completing a pediatric foot and ankle fellowship at The Pediatric Orthopedic Center in Cedar Knolls, New Jersey, under the mentorship of renowned specialists Dr. Mark Solomon and Dr. Mark Rieger. During his fellowship, he developed expertise in treating a wide range of pediatric foot and ankle conditions, including congenital deformities, sprains, fractures, growth plate injuries, as well as sports and dance-related injuries. Dr. Ahmed is proficient in managing pediatric conditions such as equinovarus deformities (clubfoot), toe walking, in-toeing, flatfoot, high arch foot, ankle sprains and fractures, and brachymetatarsia.
His fellowship also encompassed specialized training in minimally invasive foot and ankle surgical techniques, including minimally invasive bunion surgery and gradual deformity correction using the Ilizarov hexapod external fixator. Dr. Ahmed’s broad and deep training equips him to effectively treat foot and ankle conditions across all age groups, from pediatric to geriatric patients.
Dr. Ahmed is also committed to contributing to the advancement of podiatric surgery through education. He actively participates in training and mentoring podiatric residents at Saint Barnabas Medical Center, sharing his knowledge and expertise with the next generation of surgeons.
Outside of his professional life, Dr. Ahmed enjoys an active lifestyle, including sports, fitness, and nutrition. He also values quality time spent with his family, including his newborn daughter, and enjoys exploring new culinary experiences with family and friends.

Dr. Adrien is dedicated to providing patient-centered care and helping individuals regain mobility and overcome foot and ankle pain. He believes in addressing every patient concern with thoroughness and expertise, ensuring no issue is too complex to resolve.
Dr. Adrien’s areas of specialization include sports-related injuries, minimally invasive surgical techniques, comprehensive foot and ankle surgery, and general podiatric care. His diverse skill set allows him to effectively treat a wide range of conditions with a focus on utilizing the least invasive methods possible to promote faster recovery and minimize patient discomfort.
Prior to joining Ankle & Foot Doctors of New Jersey, Dr. Adrien began his career in the Orthopedic Surgery Department at Augusta University Health. During this time, he also served as an assistant professor at the Medical College of Georgia, where he played a key role in educating medical students, orthopedic residents, and sports medicine fellows in the intricacies of foot and ankle care. Dr. Adrien is passionate about medical education and continues to contribute to the training of residents at Saint Barnabas Medical Center.
Dr. Adrien’s roots are in central New Jersey, and he received his medical education at Barry University. He completed his surgical training at Hoboken University Medical Center in New Jersey, further solidifying his expertise in podiatric medicine and surgery.
Beyond his professional commitments, Dr. Adrien enjoys an active and diverse personal life. His hobbies include biking, swimming, traveling, and pursuing his love of reading.
