Your Bed
For your safety and well-being, your bed is equipped with side rails. Our nursing staff may raise these rails, especially during the night, to prevent accidental falls. For safekeeping of valuable items, we offer a secure storage service. You can have security store your valuables in the hospital safe. Meal Services
Nutritious meals are an important part of your recovery. We provide patients with three meals daily at approximately the following times:

A nutrition attendant from our Food and Nutrition Services will assist you in selecting meals that align with your doctor-prescribed diet. Please inform the nutrition attendant if you are vegetarian or have any religious or cultural dietary observances. With your doctor’s approval, family and friends may also bring you food.
Room Cleaning
To ensure a clean and pleasant environment, our housekeeping staff will clean your room once daily between 7:30 am and 4 pm. For any urgent cleaning needs outside of these hours, an emergency housekeeping service is available 24 hours a day. Please call 8165 from your room telephone for additional housekeeping services.
Room Television
For your entertainment and information, we offer 29 television channels. Additionally, patients have access to the MyChart bedside educational network, providing valuable health information and resources.
Important Hospital Policies for Your Stay at Luminis Health Doctors Community Medical Center
To ensure a safe and healthy environment for everyone at Luminis Health Doctors Community Medical Center, we have established certain hospital policies.
Hospital Room Policies
- No Smoking Policy: Luminis Health Doctors Community Medical Center is a smoke-free campus. Smoking is strictly prohibited in all buildings, on the grounds, and in parking lots.

- Storing Medications from Home: If you brought medications from home, please give them to your nurse upon arrival. Our pharmacy will log and securely store them, or we may ask you to send them home with a loved one.
- Using Medications from Home: If our pharmacy does not typically stock a medication you require, your doctor may authorize the use of your own medication. In such cases, a nurse will administer your medication as with any other prescribed medication.
- Returning Your Medication: Upon your discharge, any medications stored by our pharmacy will be returned to you.
